| | Now, history is my least favorite subject. But there are just some things that I simply cannot stand. In AP World History, I learned one meaningful lesson. And that was never to render any judgment on a group of people until all sides of the story are considered, and even then, to hold out on one's opinion. Mankind only sees things at first in one dimension, so it is up to us to mentally grasp the rest of the sides in the best way as possible. I was reading today's article called 'China Locks Down Restive Region After Deadly Clashes'. And NO DOUBT, the journalist is playing on the chinese. RIDICULOUS! How they have no proof at all that EITHER side was to blame for the many who died. The citizens pleas of innocence are ridiculous. Of course they are 'normal' people. But normal people can react. I just had to read the comments, because I know people would subconsciously (or worse, actively) pursue the chinese and defame them. They call it a breachment of civil rights. Well let me tell you, if you stand so haughty and proud over the so called accomplishments of the United States, you are standing on brittle and crumbling grounds. Look upon all around you. What about guantanimo bay? I need say nothing further. My favorite comment:
"A closed society such as China's can always present a happy face to the world. Beyond appearances, there are stories like this."
This is by a Matt in New York City.
Well let me tell you something, CHINA is no longer a closed society. The fact that you can get this knowledge right here and now, is because of the marvels of interlocking nations. China is not pulling up a face or doing anything of the sort. What has it to hide? If there is an outbreak in the US (and we have not seen anything like this magnititude, so another note, I bet US response would be no lighter a hand) the government would most likely do the same. There are stories HERE, okay? If China is a closed society, you should be surprised (when I am not): THE UNITED STATES IS A CLOSED SOCIETY AS WELL.
Stylistically, my credibility is going to be broken, but I can't stand it. Read this one:
I think one favorite policy people like to point fingers at is the fact that China strictly impliments a one child policy.
Fuck you. FUCK YOU. You think you understand? You think you even have the right to pity them? LOL! Ridiculous. It should be elementary to you that China has the largest national population in the world. There are SO many mouths to feed, and, although China is growing rapidly economically, how can the government allow every parent to produce two children or more, thereby exponentailly increasing the food supply. Is that any personal freedom when you are one in the many who are limiting others' chances of the same primitive necessity: food.
You may call me communist. And, quite frankly, perhaps I do not care. You may call me biased, and perhaps I am (given that my nationality is of mainland china). But the point is, hear me out.
So shut up and listen. And before you want to say anything, look around you, shut up and listen twice. |
